From December 2008 til May 2009 (the 20th) I have been running 810 kilometers. Apparently not enough to beat my personal record from Copenhagen Marathon 2008 (3.10). My ultimate goal this year was to run Copenhagen Marathon in less than three hours. A realistic goal according to my training where my long distance running's - 28 kilometers was completed in 2 hours and 14 kilometers in 54 minutes. I was kind of optimistic:-) This year my running strategy was to follow the speed group running with a average speed of 14,1 km/h. (4.16 minutes/km).

The first 15 km was completed in 53.30 and I was feeling really fresh. At about 17 km the weather changed and the rain and wind took over. This year I ran in shorts and tank top and at about 18-19 km I was actually freezing and I was suffering from heavy cramping in my calves. Because of this I had to speed down and stop several times to "cure" my cramping. It did not help.

OPENCOPENHAGEN

The phenomenon "City branding" or experience economy has been "the talk of town" in the world of branding for a long period. Small danish islands like Læsø, Anholt and Samsø has for the last decade experienced a great interest because the islands have been branded in a very "storytelling way". The same is happening with cities in Denmark. Every little city or town are trying to stand out in a attractive way (More tourist - more money).

Because of the  financial meltdown Denmark has been experiencing for the last 12 month "City branding" has never been as important as know. The tourist industry needs to push the branding in order to outperform the competitors. Sweden has been very aggressive in their marketing: "Visit Sweden and take advantages of the devaluation of the Swedish crone". Because of this the Danish tourist industry is supposed to suffer great financial losses because of the lack of tourists in Denmark.

This year Awards has just been arranged. The winners are all beautifully made. That said I still have my absolute favorites. In the category "best use of photography" the website "The Big Picture" is a must see. Really nice photos from all over the world. Visit The Big Picture here.

I found some amazing photos of London, as seen from above at night taken by photographer Jason Hawkes. The 24 photos are from 2008 taken from a Eurocopter AS355, hired out at around £1150 (GBP) per hour, using Nikon gear and either a 14-24mm or a 70-200mm lens. Check more pictures on Jason Hawkes website here and his blog here.

DJ KOZE PODCAST

Stefan Kozalla aka DJ Koze made a brilliant podcast for the musicportal Resident Advisor. The mix is suitable for home listening but do still have a club approach. Furthermore the mix contains a cool track made by the danish group "When Saints Go Machine" - Fail Forever (dOP Remix) which is pretty cool in my opinion.

Check out more details on DJ Koze's podcast on Resident Advisor website here.
