TWITTER INTEGRATES WITH IOS 5

Twitter is integrated into iOS 5, so you can begin tweeting directly from Safari, Photos, Camera, YouTube, and Maps along with third party apps. This is a very cool move from Apple and the reactions have until now been very positive. Personally I like the feauture very much since Twitter is my first choice in the social media landscape.

I use Twitter as information and inspiration media, and I am also a little active on Twitter myself (but not as much as I wish). Apple has been leading the digital development for the last decade and the big question is if Twitter will see even more users after the Twitter integration in IOS 5?

The iPad from Apple has arrived. In this video it is not Steve Jobs presenting the iPad, but president Obama himself. It is quite funny.

APPLE ITABLET HYPE

As expected, Apple is holding a "special event" on Jan. 27. The event is marketed as "come see our latest creation". I hope it will be the launch pad for the as-yet-unconfirmed Apple iTablet. Again, Apple succeeds in creating buzz and hype about themselves. Rumours on the Internet has for the last year or so been filled with "iTablet pictures" and Apple hype theories.

We will have to wait until next wednesday. Check out some pictures below and read more about Apple's iTablet here.

After several delays, the Danish National Radio has finally released their own iPhone application. You find it in the App Store under the name DR P3.

The program is linked to to the radio program P3. The App let you see the five most recent songs, a current top 20 of most played songs on P3 and a minor news overview. Furthermore you can check out the DR music catalog and find background information. Cool.

APPLE WIRED MIGHTY MOUSE

I have been using Apple's Mighty Mouse for the last 4 years. During this period I have had 2 of them. And now I actually need to get a third one. But I am not going to buy my third Mighty Mouse from Apple. I am normally a sucker for Apple products, but in relation to the Mighty Mouse I am very disappointed.

First of all the Mouse is way to expensive compared to other substantial products. I appreciate the design of the Mighty Mouse, but I am much more interested in functionality and stability. 2 things you actually won't get with the Mighty Mouse. The scroll function is after some month of use, useless. I had to clean my Mighty Mouse every third day after 3 days of use. I used my mouse a lot, but it is still very disappointing.

MAC OS X SNOW LEOPARD

Today I installed the newest version of Mac OS X on my Macbook Pro 17. The new version is named Mac OS X Snow Leopard and it runs actually very fast. In this version of Mac OS X Apple focused on usability + speed and not so much on innovation/new programmes and features etc.

To be honest I find this very attractive. Speed is the most important thing to me. The Finder has been completely rewritten in Cocoa to take advantage of all the modern technologies in Mac OS X, including 64-bit support and Grand Central Dispatch. My computer is not running 64-bit, but I am very pleased with the speed my on my Macbook Pro 17.

IPHONE 16 GB

My absence from my blog for the last month or so is because I am kind of busy with a lot of stuff. 1: Finishing my master thesis, 2: training for Copenhagen Marathon 2009, 3: Creating an iPhone optimized edition of ornholt.dk. 4: Working on various online projects. 5: iPhone reasons. This blogpost is about reason number 5:

Now it is a fact that I am not a firstmover (If I ever really was:-)). Why? I got myself an iPhone 3G 16 GB in black. Being kind of feed up with the hype of the iPhone I actually think it is nice.

SAFARI WEB BROWSER

Apple introduced the Safari 4 Beta web browser yesterday. I already installed it and it is super fast and has a lot of improvements. In performance test the new Safari web browser is said to be more than 42 times faster than Internet Explorer.

Read more about Safari's speed here. If you are a mac-user or windows user..go get it here. In my opinion it is the best web browser out there. The web browser "war" is continuing and Internet Explorer is still the king.

STEVE JOBS

In summer 2008 I read a rather commercial book about the founder of Apple; Steve Jobs. The bio is named The Greatest Second Act in the History of Business. I found the book pretty entertaining and realized how great/crazy a businessman/marketing man Steve Jobs is.

He founded Apple Computers and when Apple - 10 years ago were suffering from decreasing sale and bad products Steve came back and turned the whole business around. The rest is history (iMac, iPod, iPhone, iTunes etc). Apple has never been in better shape than today and in spite of worldwide financial crises Apple is still going strong.
