10 years ago I trained almost every day to improve my jumping gymnastics skills! And I remember making a triple somersault which was actually pretty wild.
Imagine doing this on a bike - that might be the easiest way to kill yourself was my first thought. But then I came over this YouTube video featuring Jed Mildon riding his BMX doing a triple backflip.

On the 17th of October 2010 I ran Amsterdam Marathon with two friends. The weather turned out to be really nice after some days with rain and a lot of wind. This year 7887 completed the race and I came in as runner 574 in my best time ever: 3.06!
As always I tried to run - negative split - which is a marathon where you run the last part faster than the first part. I ran the first 21.1 km. in 1.34 and the last part in 1.32. A very satisfactory feeling to run faster in the end of a marathon.

The last three years I have been running Copenhagen Marathon. This year my training has not been optimal since I started out training to late - at least if you want to run a fast marathon and beat your personal record (3.10 in 2008). Anyways - the weather was nice and Copenhagen Marathon has developed a lot - the amount of participants increases year by year. This year 12.644 runners had signed up - but only 9.847 made it to the start and 9.141 completed the race. I thought it was a great run this year - new route and okay weather - and a lot more people in the streets cheering and making a nice atmosphere.
Compared to the last year I had another running strategy. I tried to run - negative split - which is a marathon where you run the last part faster than the first part. I ran the first 21.1 km. in 1.41 and the last part in 1.48 and managed to cross the finish line in 3.27. Not my best marathon - but on the other hand I was fresh and could actually walk after the run. Great!

Some years ago I became fan of a the blog named Hope/Glory blog. The blog is all about cool things within categories like design, music, business, art and culture. Today I was browsing their blog and found a very cool video - a boy named Steven Hamilton driving his BMX. Talented guy he is!

Today I bought a new bike. I like bikes with a clean and minimal look and after 2 hours of research I decided to go for a Centurion Basic Classic single speed. I guess I am a pretty conservative consumer because this is my Centurion bike number two. And because Copenhagen is flat as a pancake I think a single speed bike is perfect. Looking forward to try it out.

I followed the Tour De France 2009 intensively. Amazing entertainment and admiration. Because I am Danish I kept hoping that the Schelck brothers (Saxo Bank) could outperform the stars from Astana - Alberto Contador and Lance Armstrong. But Alberto was to strong for Andy Scheleck and Lance Armstrong (What A comeback!) was to strong for Frank Schleck. After the Mont Ventoux stage the order in Tour De France 2009 was: Alberto Contador (1), Andy Schleck(2), Lance Armstrong(3).
Finally on the podium in Paris, after a great run, Alberto Contador must have felt very weird, when he was announced as winner of Tour De France 2009. Not because he won but because the Tour De France officials played the Danish national anthem and not the Spanish!? What a scandal really. A perfect coordinated Tour De France end up like this. Bad timing.

From December 2008 til May 2009 (the 20th) I have been running 810 kilometers. Apparently not enough to beat my personal record from Copenhagen Marathon 2008 (3.10). My ultimate goal this year was to run Copenhagen Marathon in less than three hours. A realistic goal according to my training where my long distance running's - 28 kilometers was completed in 2 hours and 14 kilometers in 54 minutes. I was kind of optimistic:-) This year my running strategy was to follow the speed group running with a average speed of 14,1 km/h. (4.16 minutes/km).
The first 15 km was completed in 53.30 and I was feeling really fresh. At about 17 km the weather changed and the rain and wind took over. This year I ran in shorts and tank top and at about 18-19 km I was actually freezing and I was suffering from heavy cramping in my calves. Because of this I had to speed down and stop several times to "cure" my cramping. It did not help.
