TWITTER INTEGRATES WITH IOS 5

Twitter is integrated into iOS 5, so you can begin tweeting directly from Safari, Photos, Camera, YouTube, and Maps along with third party apps. This is a very cool move from Apple and the reactions have until now been very positive. Personally I like the feauture very much since Twitter is my first choice in the social media landscape.

I use Twitter as information and inspiration media, and I am also a little active on Twitter myself (but not as much as I wish). Apple has been leading the digital development for the last decade and the big question is if Twitter will see even more users after the Twitter integration in IOS 5?

The invisible airbag bicycle helmet Hövding has just received the worlds largest design award, INDEX. Hövding is a bicycle helmet unlike any other on the market. It’s ergonomic, it’s practical, it complies with all safety requirements and it’s subtle and blends in with what you are wearing. I will have to get one of these for my girlfriend!

Check out how it works below:

London based ad agency Dentsu has recently launched a campaign for London's Hybrid Taxi. The ad is an interactive promotion for Greentomatocars that uses lasers to sketch murals on buildings.

Awesome video and great idea.

This could tend to be a little nerdy. For quite some time I have been looking for a drag n drop plugin for Joomla! CMS backend. And now I found it. This plugin allows you to drag table row items into the order you would like, then just click the save icon and your items are ordered. Cool!

Read more about the drag n drop plugin for Joomla! here and here. If you registrer on the developers website you can downlaod the plugin for free.

QR CODES

Through my job as a digital consultant I came across QR codes, which is the initialism of Quick Response, a few times. A QR Code is a matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code), readable by QR scanners, mobile phones with camera, and smartphones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on white background and the information encoded can contain website URL’s, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and other personal messages or data.

QR Codes was created by Toyota subsidiary Denso-Wave in 1994 and the QR code is one of the most popular types of two-dimensional barcodes and it's widely used in primarily Japan and Asia - but because of the rising use of smartphones and mobile phones with integrated camera the use and potential with QR codes or mobile tags are to be seen everywhere in the public space, advertising campaigns, events, museums, super markets and so on. The potential is huge - and eg. Calvin Klein has already used QR codes in a marketing campaign. QR codes can be used both in offline or online marketing campaigns - I guess the only barrier is your creativity.

50 TWEETS ON ORNHOLT.DK

Posted by: Søren in This website

You can it call it superficial and lazy. You can call it spot on and cool. I talk about my newest integration on www.ornholt.dk. I call it 50 tweets and it is all about what I tweet about. I spend a lot of time on Twitter and thought it would be cool to integrate my 50 latest tweets on my website. My tweets are of course not as long as a blog post - and not as descriptive - but can be as useful as an entire blog post (stripped down minimalism). I became a fan of making small updates instead of writing "long" blog post. The digital revolution with iPhone + 3G netiworks makes it possible to "connect" to the world in few seconds - and few words. Very convenient. I like!

Tweets, off course, cannot replace blog post in terms of length and content - but they can give you a short update - and it is fast to tweet it. So here goes the point: From now on I will tweet about "small things" - and write blog post about "big things". I also integrated the same feature on my iPhone website. Check it out here.

APPLE ITABLET HYPE

As expected, Apple is holding a "special event" on Jan. 27. The event is marketed as "come see our latest creation". I hope it will be the launch pad for the as-yet-unconfirmed Apple iTablet. Again, Apple succeeds in creating buzz and hype about themselves. Rumours on the Internet has for the last year or so been filled with "iTablet pictures" and Apple hype theories.

We will have to wait until next wednesday. Check out some pictures below and read more about Apple's iTablet here.

The conference: New Media Days 2009 took place in Copenhagen last week. The conference is all about discussing the implications and impact in the change of how we use the "new" media nowadays.

On the website of New Media Days 2009 I found an interesting lecture held by the internet visionary Clay Shirky named: New Motivations and Opportunities - Understanding the Amateur Producer.

After several delays, the Danish National Radio has finally released their own iPhone application. You find it in the App Store under the name DR P3.

The program is linked to to the radio program P3. The App let you see the five most recent songs, a current top 20 of most played songs on P3 and a minor news overview. Furthermore you can check out the DR music catalog and find background information. Cool.
